چکیده

We deene Parameterized Real-Time Computation Tree Logic (PRTCTL), which allows quantitative temporal speciications to be parameterized over the natural numbers. Parameterized quantitative speciications are quantitative speciications in which concrete timing information has been abstracted away. Such abstraction allows designers to specify quantitative restrictions on the temporal ordering of events without having to use speciic timing information from the model. A model checking algorithm for the logic is given which is polynomial for any xed number of parameters. A subclass of formulae are identiied for which the model checking problem is linear in the length of the formula and size of the structure. PRTCTL is generalized to allow quantitative reasoning about the number of occurrences of atomic events.

Mixed Qualitative/Quantitative Dynamic Simulation of Processing Systems

In this article the methodology proposed by Li and Wang for mixed qualitative and quantitative modeling and simulation of temporal behavior of processing unit is reexamined and extended to more complex case. The main issue of their approach considers the multivariate statistics of principal component analysis (PCA), along with clustered fuzzy digraphs and reasoning. The PCA and fuz...

A Method of Spatial Reasoning Based on Qualitative Trigonometry

Due to the lack of exact quantitative information or the difficulty associated with obtaining or processing such information, qualitative spatial knowledge representation and reasoning often become an essential means for solving spatial constraint problems as found in science and engineering. This paper presents a computational approach to representing and reasoning about spatial constraints in...

A Quantitative Model of Counterfactual Reasoning

In this paper we explore two quantitative approaches to the modelling of counterfactual reasoning – a linear and a noisy-OR model – based on information contained in conceptual dependency networks. Empirical data is acquired in a study and the fit of the models compared to it. We conclude by considering the appropriateness of non-parametric approaches to counterfactual reasoning, and examining ...

Execution Monitoring with Quantitative Temporal Bayesian Networks

The goal of execution monitoring is to determine whether a system or person is following a plan appropriately. Monitoring information may be uncertain, and the plan being monitored may have complex temporal constraints. We develop a new framework for reasoning under uncertainty with quantitative temporal constraints – Quantitative Temporal Bayesian Networks – and we discuss its application to p...
